The MF16080-T USB system is a solution for mobile data acquisition using the popular USB interface found in desktop and standard notebook computers. In addition this card is designed for harsh environments. It is specified to operate within -40°C .. +105°C .

» PCDAQ Driver/ELAN for ELAN AD132 PCMCIA card range

PCDAQ driver supports the well-known PCMCIA data acquisition cards from ELAN Digital Systems Ltd. that suit the needs of mobile test and measurement system perfectly.

One can build a system using a special measurement notebook (so called "portable") that has one or two PCI slots for standard data acquisition cards.
Or - using a standard notebook  - with PCMCIA, USB or FireWire devices for data capture a small, lightweight and powerful system can be built.

The cards may be more expensive that PCI cards, but in exchange a lot of money will be saved using an off-the-shelf notebook.

PCMCIA cards are the smallest - they fit into a notebook. USB / FireWire boxes need additional cables, space and - sometimes - power supply.
Because of the limited throughput USB I data acquisition devices are available up to 100kHz sample rate only. Using PCMCIA cards much higher rates are no problem.

Using a PCMCIA drive these cards can be used in desktop computers as well.

Software for data capture and analysis using sound cards is available with the PCDAQ Driver/Audio. The product is called FreeVIEW® Sound.  It works with any sound card for capturing and generating data, inclusing cards with more than 2 channels.  Even closed-loop applications using A/D and D/A simultaneously are possible.

The software consists of a Data capture / Analyzer software that can be easily used as FFT analyzer and as 2 channel audio signal generator. The API enables users to write their own data capture / signal generating applications.

The full version FreeVIEW® Sound pro is free for radio amateurs. An appropriate proof (scan of amatuer radio license or QSL card) is presupposed.
